What: Intermediate Knitting classes
When: Saturdays, March 30 - May 11, 2019 (no class April 13)
    1:00 - 3:00pm
Where: Sheena’s Gallery, 953 St. Mary’s Road
Who: our teacher is Carmen Howatt
How much: the class is $78 plus GST, supplies not included

A list with all the supplies needed will be sent out once registration is complete. 

All supplies are available to purchase at the store, or you can bring your own.

No scents please.

Must have knowledge of:
  • Stocking stitch
  • Knitted and stranded (long tail) cast-on
  • Bind-off
  • Increase / decrease
  • Test gauge swatch

Week 1: worsted weight toque on cable needle for magic loop
(change to DPN’s for decreasing)
Week 2: two-at-a-time top-down socks (sock / fingering weight )
Week 3: traditional flap heel or sling heel
Week 4: Kitchener stitch (grafting toe)
toe-up socks with two methods of casting on
Week 5: multiple cables (dishcloth)
Week 6: colour work: fair isle knitting (dishcloth)
(Patterns will be provided for each week)

You will learn:
  • knitting in the round: on double pointed needles and magic loop
  • Top-down, two-at-a-time socks
  • Toe-up, two-at-a-time socks
  • Kitchner stitch (grafting toes of socks (or shoulders)
  • Two methods of turning the heel
  • Two methods of toe-up cast-on
  • Provisional cast-on
  • Multiple cables
  • Fair isle knitting
